You absolutely do not need an arcade stick to play tekken though sticks give have no advantage.
The fight stick is made for ps4 ps3 pc and i bought it mainly because tournaments for tekken are run on ps4 and luckily my roommate has a ps4 with tekken.
There are enough tournament players that use ps3 and ps4 controllers.
